Costs and decision

XING TalentManager costs: what you really pay

A TalentManager licence costs XING customers between 4,390 € and 8,190 € a year, depending on the package (Core or Pro), the type and size of the company, paid yearly in advance on a twelve-month term with three months' notice. Add ZingBot at 135 € a month per seat if you automate the outreach, and your working time. Here is the price table from XING's calculator, what separates Core from Pro, and at how many saved hours the combination pays for itself.

The prices

XING names the price only after you answer three questions in its calculator: staffing agency or not, company size, number of licences. The table shows the answers for one licence; the monthly values are XING’s own conversion, what you pay is the year.

From the third licence XING gives a volume discount that the calculator only shows on input. An example for 51 to 500 employees and three licences: Core 5,242.40 € per licence, 15,727.20 € a year together; Pro 6,111.50 € per licence, 18,334.50 € together. Each licence belongs to one person; a team of three sourcers needs three.

Core or Pro

The difference that matters is the message quota: Core allows 200 messages to non-contacts a month (300 for staffing agencies), Pro an unlimited number, with XING reserving a review above 1,000 a month. On top, only Pro has its own talent pools and team pools, smart pools that update themselves, pools pre-filled from job-ad visitors and the campaign feature. Search with over 30 filters, boolean search, saved searches, projects, templates, shared messages and notes in the team, statistics: both.

Our rule of thumb: Pro is worth it only once your team really sends more than 200 messages a month to new people. One sourcer working two lists of 50 profiles a month stays on Core. Anyone buying Pro “for stock” pays 1,300 to 2,000 € a year for messages they do not write.

Contract and term

Twelve months minimum, the total plus VAT is due at contract start, paid by invoice. Notice three months before the end of the term, otherwise the contract renews for a further twelve months. Licences can be added at any time. For a monthly figure, divide the annual amount by twelve; that is an arithmetic aid, not a monthly charge.

The full calculation

The list price is one cost block of four. What active sourcing on XING costs only shows once the licence, the tools and the working time sit side by side.

Working time is more than hitting send. Time these separately: search and profile selection, list upkeep, message and follow-ups, checks, replies. Only the message-and-follow-ups block is the one ZingBot takes over; up to 12 hours a week per employee sit there.

Break-even

Divide the monthly extra cost by your fully loaded hourly rate. The result is the number of hours you need to save per month for the tool to carry itself.

Break-even hours = monthly extra cost ÷ fully loaded hourly rate

TalentManager already in place, 45 € an hour: 135 € ÷ 45 € = 3 hours a month

TalentManager new, 51 to 500 employees, Core: (5,490 € ÷ 12 + 135 €) ÷ 45 € = about 13 hours a month

If you already have TalentManager, ZingBot is the only new expense, and three saved hours a month is a single list of fifty profiles. If you buy TalentManager only for the automation, its monthly value goes into the numerator and the threshold rises to about 13 hours; then the search itself has to carry the purchase, not ZingBot. Run your own numbers in the ROI calculator: licences, hourly rate, placement value, the result as an annual projection.

Who it pays off for

Teams that already write to qualified TalentManager lists regularly: that is where the manual work ZingBot takes over arises, and every list beyond three hours of sending is gain. It does not pay off for anyone who writes to single profiles occasionally, who has no target group and message yet, who has nobody to answer replies, or who would buy TalentManager only for the automation. Time the minutes per task for two to four weeks and the calculation stands on your figures. Questions about XING TalentManager costs

What does XING TalentManager cost per month?

XING bills per year but shows monthly values: Core from 366 €, Pro from 474 € a month for a small company with one licence; 458 € and 599 € at 51 to 500 employees. The annual amount is due at contract start, plus VAT.

What is the difference between TalentManager Core and Pro?

Core allows 200 messages to non-contacts a month (300 for staffing agencies), Pro unlimited messages plus talent pools, smart pools, automatically pre-filled pools and the campaign feature. Search, filters, projects, templates and team features are in both.

Is there a volume discount?

Yes, from the third licence. At 51 to 500 employees Core costs 5,242.40 € instead of 5,490 € per licence with three licences, Pro 6,111.50 € instead of 7,190 €. XING shows the exact discount in the calculator once you enter the number of licences.

Can my team share a licence?

No. A licence is tied to one person's XING profile and cannot be shared; XING names multiple use of a recruiter seat explicitly as a reason for review. Three sourcers need three licences.

Do staffing agencies pay more?

Yes. For an agency with up to ten employees, Core is 5,790 € and Pro 7,590 € a year, above that 5,990 € and 7,890 €. In return Core carries a higher message quota of 300 a month.

How long is the contract and how do I cancel?

Twelve months minimum, renewal for a further twelve, notice three months before the end of the term. The total is due at contract start, paid by invoice.

Is there a free trial?

XING offers no public trial on its pricing page; there are Core, Pro and a consultation call. Ask in the call if you want to test.

What does ZingBot cost on top?

135 € a month per seat, billed monthly, quarterly or yearly; one seat is one XING account. For the TalentManager import you need the TalentManager licence on that account; ZingBot changes nothing about XING's price.

When does ZingBot pay for itself next to TalentManager?

Divide 135 € by your fully loaded hourly rate: at 45 € that is three saved hours a month. If you buy TalentManager only for the automation, its monthly value counts too: at 5,490 € a year plus 135 € for ZingBot that is about 13 hours a month.

Is TalentManager worth it without automation?

Only if you really use the search and the messages to non-contacts; without TalentManager a Premium account has five such messages a month. Anyone who writes to lists regularly does not get far without it; anyone who searches three times a year pays for stock.
